Award-winning hairdresser, fashion designer, altruist, and matriarch. No one day is the same for Jaimee Smith. Despite being caught in the crossfire between the needs of business and parenting, Jaimee has succeeded in creating the delicate balance between leadership and family. She successfully established Zaibatsu Hair Art nearly 20 years ago and most recently formed Florence, her clothing line with edgy designs based on self-reflection. Carving out a name for herself in the cut-throat world of hairdressing and fashion design hasn’t come without its challenges but they have only served to motivate her further.
Some of her life’s toughest obstacles have been the catalyst for creating beautiful things including a stunning award-winning portfolio of industry photographic work, a renovated church transformed into a heaven-sent home (featured in NZ House and Garden), a gorgeous clothing line, and a wonderful family. Based in Dunedin, New Zealand, she balances her business world with a focus on health and wellbeing, her husband, their two children, and bulldog puppy called Doris.
